Today, in the United States, the age of consent of sexual activity is between 16 and 18 years old, depending on the state. In Canada, it's 16. In Central America, it varies between 15 and 18. This has not always been the case though.
In the 19th century in the United States, the age of consent was far lower. In Delaware, it was just 7 years old! In nine other states and in the District of Columbia, it was 12. And in all the rest, it was just 10.
Today's Delaware's age of consent is 18 years old.
